Hand Soldering
The most frequently used technique for soldering electronic parts is hand soldering, specially when you are still creating your prototype boards. This is commonly performed with the use of a soldering iron, soldering gun, a torch or a hot-air pencil.

When soldering multiple leaded components, wave soldering is the most economical method. This method is also preferable when through hole components are used. This method works by fastening the components by the placement equipment onto the printed circuit board surface, then it briefly passed over a “wave of solder”, that would then allow the solder to “wick” onto the pads and through via holes.

Reflow Soldering
For reflow soldering, a solder paste is used to temporarily hold the electrical components on their contact pads, after which the whole assembly is then placed on a hot oven that melts the solder and permanently connecting the joint.
